I will not deny that at the Atom Band camp we have discussed similar aspirations and at our low points propped ourselves up with such righteousness, or at least patting ourselves on the back. But when have to get back to writing a song or recording or mixing or getting ready for a gig I must confess we would appear less than strategens of a minature revolution. You see what is almost completely absent from our talk at these times is theory or calculating subversion of the scene in SA. We, at this time, are wholly involved in the nuts and bolts of music making, the craft, to which an observer might remark how utterly dull our process is to witness. Thus somewhere in here is my point. That is as musicians it is not only healthier, but necessary, to take a step back from the musical landscape and those ideas of where you fit in and dedicate yourself to the craft of music making. Better listeners make better tastes and harder workers means better music. Thank you for an excellent article, and you will be happy to know Atom band will be slaving away as usual, doing our best, but not giving up so soon.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830980509459118400noreply@blogger.com
