Bolo'bolo - anarchist infoshop and vegan café - fundraiser

Hey music friends,

bolo’bolo is organizing a fundraiser, to be held at Side Street Studios in Woodstock (Cape Town) on the 21st of February (from 4pm into the night). We’re looking for artists who would like to support our anarchist space (which is currently in urgent need of finances in order to pay a deposit and meet the dramatic rent increase) to help us raise money by playing on the day. If you're in a band or know people who are in bands who would like to play (whatever genre they're in), or can help in any other way, please let me know as soon as you can.

Additionally, if you have access to a PA or any other sound equipment, it would come in very handy.

Thanks!
A

Bolo’bolo is a collectively run anarchist infoshop, coffee house and alternative social space in Observatory, Cape Town.

The shop stocks a wide range of relevant, hard to obtain literature, with a focus on anarchism and other forms of radical politics, grassroots environmentalism, feminism, animal rights, veganism, LGBTQIA issues, counterculture, cutting-edge philosophy, black consciousness and more. Publications include imported books and magazines as well as a range of self-produced materials (booklets/zines, newsletters, print on demand books, etc.). Apart from these, we sell badges, t-shirts, stickers, posters and other related paraphernalia.

The shop also serves 100% vegan baked goods, coffees, teas and assorted drinks.

Finally, the shop acts as a venue for events. These include documentary and art film screenings, an anarchist reading group, talks, open discussions, listening evenings, the anarchist free skool, and any other event aligned with our ethos. For upcoming events, check out our calendar.

On wed the 26th of Feb we are running a fundraiser for Bolo'bolo - anarchist infoshop and vegan café, a collectively run anarchist infoshop, coffee house and alternative social space in Observatory, Cape Town. They not only sell relevant, hard to obtain literature - on anarchism, grassroots environmentalism, feminism, animal rights, veganism, LGBTQIA issues, counterculture, cutting-edge philosophy, black consciousness and more - but publish their own material and host many important events (and serve great vegan cupcakes).

They need to raise a large sum of money to be able to keep the shop they are in, and since I refuse to see such an amazing place go down - I am asking for your participation.

Any musicians that want to come and play, artists and crafts people that want to sell or auction stuff to raise money, people who have any ideas on how to further raise cash - please send me an inbox.
